Case Study: Gunz Dental

Gunz Dental is a Sydney-based Distributor of Dental Consumables and Equipment. They make use of SugarCRM® Professional for managing their entire business.

One of the challenges the field force of 40 representatives face is the requirement to maintain Account and Contact information covering over 10,000 dentists. Further, a large component of the role involves taking Orders during Account visits, plus collecting other information. Gunz selected CRMLogic to provide a mobile solution to them using Apple iPhone as the platform. The solution is built using the groundbreaking framework from Rhomobile to provide cross-platform, native applications capable of operating offline.

Orders and Profiles are custom SugarCRM modules created by RhoLogic. Orders allows field staff to populate a cart from the standard SugarCRM catalogue. Text-based searching is used to quickly locate desired products. The cart process allows full control of pricing including customer tier prices. Orders are then assigned to a default person based on data stored in SugarCRM. Profiles allows hierarchies of questions to be created, which are answered by field staff and shared amongst colleagues in the same team(s). Questions can be of various types including text, numeric, single select, multi-select, etc. The answers from these questions are then used to drive marketing campaigns.

The provision of a mobile order taking mechanism, which uses product price and inventory information update hourly, has helped Gunz Dental provide higher levels of customer service reducing the lead time for fulfillment by up to 1 day. Further, comprehensive meeting information is now available as it occurs in the field. These meetings make full use of custom drop-downs on the mobile application, created in SugarCRM, that are specific to the Industry and company strategy.

Gunz Dental operates the platform in both Australia and New Zealand. The information gathered is used to gauge field performance and drive marketing campaigns run through SugarCRM. This combination of mobile data collection and SugarCRM in the back office helps Gunz Dental deliver stand out customer service.
